Join Campus Orchestras!
Regardless of how long you haven’t played your instrument, or whether you once contemplated becoming a music major, all are welcome to audition. There is no opportunity like this on campus to gather, play, and work with the many students, staff, faculty, and community members who all share a love and passion for orchestral music!
If you wish to audition for the Campus Orchestras, you’ll need to attend the first informational meeting of the year and sign up for an audition time.
The Campus Orchestras informational meeting is typically held the first Wed. evening of the fall semester. For the academic year 2008-2009, the fall meeting will take place
Wednnesday, September 10, 2008
7:00 p.m.
Rehearsal Hall
School of Music (on North Campus)
At this time, you will have the opportunity to sign-up for an audition.
The audition will consist of playing TWO 1 to 2 minute excerpts of your choice that demonstrate your highest level of playing. Excerpts that demonstrate both fast, techincal playing, and slow lyrical playing are expected. The excerpts may be from the same movement or work. You may be asked to sight read a very short excerpt.
The first full rehearsal of both orchestras will be on Wednesday, TBD.
